The Tennessee Association for Play Therapy (TNAPT) was formed in 1993 as a branch of the Association for Play Therapy. Our goal then and now remains the same: to promote play therapy by providing information, networking and workshops. It is our hope that this website can provide updated information to assist this goal.
Play Therapy is the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained play therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development. (Association for Play Therapy)
Why play? Play is a child's natural form of communication as they express themselves more fully with their play.
